Humble Hearts School for the Deaf |

 Humble Hearts School for the Deaf is in Nairobi,
Kenya. Unlike other schools for the deaf, Humble Hearts seeks to
educate students who are orphans or from poor families that cannot
afford the costs of special education. Deafness is not well
understood by many in Kenya. Some believe it to be a curse and
argue about which parent is cursed. This causes many parents to
separate. Most deaf children cannot receive an education
because families live in poverty and have no way to pay tuition costs. For $20 a month you can help a child stay in the Humble Hearts program and receive the special education that a deaf child requires. Sponsorship of a child will provide a uniform (for many the only new outfit they have ever owned), school supplies and the cost of tuition. With sponsorship these children will have an opportunity to continue to receive an education and the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty. Humble Hearts is also accepting hearing students, especially siblings of deaf children. This will help the deaf children in their home environment with another family member that will know sign language. Sponsors will receive photographs and a complete biography of the child. Updated photos will be received annually, and letters from the children will be received at least every 6 months.
