We held our first fundraiser. A garage sale. We worked for a couple of months to collect donations get them all sorted and priced. Thanks to many people that donated items we ended up with a very enormous garage sale.
Almost all of the work was done by us, Justin and Jacob, although we had just a little bit of help finishing up everything so that we were ready to go. A couple of our friends came over the second day of the sale and helped us manage the sale and our Lemon-Aid booth that we setup.
We worked to raise money to help children in Kenya with this sale. After two days of having the sale we were very hot and tired, but between the garage sale and lemon-aid stand we raised $875. It was even more than we had hoped for.
We encourage kids everywhere to find a way to get involved. Have your own garage sale. Just have a Lemon-Aid stand. Collect used children's books, children's vitamins, or blankets. Pick a cause that you want to support and make sure that people know why you are collecting things. It is amazing how much people want to hear about you doing things to help other children. As kids, we can really make a big difference for other kids that need our help.
If you have some sort of a fundraiser, send us a picture of what you do. With your parents permission we will post your story and picture on the website.
